Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh left the Congress party citing discomfort in the current trajectory. In a post on social media, Mr Gaurav Vallabh Vallabh lamented the apparent directionlessness of the party.

Gaurav Vallabh said- “The directionless path the Congress Party is currently following makes me uncomfortable. I cannot support anti-Sanatan slogans nor criticize the wealth creators of the country on a day-to-day basis. Therefore , I am resigning from all posts and primary membership of the Congress.”

Mr Gaurav Vallabh shared a two-page resignation letter, which he had sent to party president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Gaurav Vallabh said- “I am feeling emotional. My heart is heavy. I want to express, write and share a lot. However, my principles prevent me from saying anything that may harm others. Yet, today, I am presenting my views to you because I firmly believe that hiding the truth is also a crime, and I refuse to engage in it.

Gaurav Vallabh entered the electoral fray in 2019 from Jamshedpur East in Jharkhand, where he secured over 18,000 votes and finished third behind then Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Saryu Roy.

Gaurav Vallabh contested the Rajasthan Assembly elections in 2023 from Udaipur constituency. However, the BJP candidate defeated Gaurav Vallabh by a margin of over 32,000 votes.

Gaurav Vallabh further alleged that the Congress party is moving in the wrong direction against the ‘fundamental principles of the party’.

“These days the Congress Party is moving in the wrong direction. On one hand the Congress Party talks about caste based census and on the other hand the party seems to be opposing the entire Hindu society. This style of functioning gives a misleading message.” The public says that the Congress party is a supporter of only one particular religion, this is against the basic principles of the Congress.

Gaurav Vallabh’s resignation comes after boxer Vijender Singh joined BJP.
