Mike Day Wikipedia, Wiki, Navy Seal, New Girlfriend, Age, Injuries, Obituary – Douglas Mike Day who is a highly decorated US Navy seal, survived and got shot 27 times while he was deployed to Iraq and passed away earlier this week on 27 March. He served 21 years in the Navy and after this, he had walked as an author and an advocate for wounded military veterans.

On the 6th of April 2007, he was nearing the end of the deployment of the Anbar province of Iraq and has been leading his SEAL platoon on a raid which is against an al Qaeda cell in the city of Fallujah. He briefly lost consciousness but when he walked he continued to engage the other man in the room while shooting them with his pistol even as he was struck yet again multiple times which are less than 10 feet away with AK 47 fire.
He told on Fox News in the year 2015 that ” after I realized that I actually was getting shot, my second part was God get me home oh my girls and then extreme anger”. Then I just went to work it was a muscle memory I just did what I was trained to do”.
Though improbable he was still alive directing several Iraqi scouts to guard a group of women and children who had been found in the building and using the radio of fellow SEAL Joseph Clark Schwedler who was killed during the raid to make contact with the rest of the team. It was only then that he realized the extent of his injuries. Sixteen bullets had torn with respect to his abdomen, arms, legs, growing, and buttocks. Another 11 had been stopped by his Body armor.
He told in Coffee or Die magazine in the year 2020 ” I didn’t even know how bad I was hurting until they came in and I saw the look on their faces”. He was soon evacuated from the battlefield, first to Baghdad, then to Landstuhl, Germany, and eventually to Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre where is walked to the MEDEVAC helicopter without assistance.
He had recounted to Fake or Die magazine that “I was not being macho, but I was afraid if they picked me up, it would just hurt more. He later retired from the Navy in the year 2010 and was awarded the Navy Cross, two Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart. He later moved on for what for 7 years as a wounded Warrior advocate for U.S. special operation Command. His autobiography “Perfectly Wounded” has been published in the year 2020.
He told in Coffee or Die magazine in the year 2020, “When you go through something together or similar it’s a bond even if you didn’t do it together. The resiliency that is built into the people after they move to trauma is incredible.
