She has been born in the year 1978 in the Richmond, Virginia. She has been graduated from the Davidson College in the year 2000 by receiving a bachelor of arts in the English, University of Notre Dame where she has got the master of fine Arts degree in the poetry as well as Florida State University from where she had received her PhD in English as well as in poetry.
Career
She is a former editor at the Southeast Review and Devil’s Lake, she presently reviews contemporary poetry for Southern Indiana Review. She was also a member of the English faculty of the Beloit college from the year 2011 to 2012. She has been done on the creative writing faculty of the Oklahoma State University. Har poetry has been published in the several journal such as The Sycamore Review.
She also the assisted professor of English at North Central college and her poem Letter to the Editor was published in The New Yorker in May 2016. With her former Davidson professor Allen Michael Parker, she is an editor of the manifesto project. She is the author of four collection of poetry which are: Fair Copy (2012, for which she won the Ohio State University Press/The Journal Award in Poetry), Vow (2013), No Girls No Telephones (return with Brittany Cavallari and published in 2013), and Bad Star (2013).
In Fair Copy, she engages with the poetry of Emily Dickinson using the first line of Dickinson poems as acrostic from which she wrote her own poems. With reviewing the collection in the Emily Dickinson Journal, Christina Pugh sad she handling of line is astonishingly virutosic and our material is only personal in the coyest as well as the most mercurial of ways nothing that this qualities echo Dickinson own body of work.
