In making the program’s second straight appearance in the 2022 NCERT tournament and the first as 14 seed, JSU made its return to the NCAA tournament as the 14 seed again to face 3 UConn in the year 2024.
She is the four-time SWAC coach of the year in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. The 20-20 Championship has the first regular season crown for the JSU from the year 2008 and the 2021 tournament Championship which has earned the first NCAA tournament appearance from the year 2008.

This year marks 26 wins with a set of school records that includes a historic 18-0 record in SWAC play. JSU has won 21 consecutive games in the calendar year 2022 the longest streak in the nation while entering the NCAA tournament. In April 2022, Ameshyq Williams Holliday was taken with the 25th overall pick in the WNBA draft. Angel Jackson who has been selected by The Last Vegas Aces which date as the 36th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft is the second JSU player drafted during Reed’s tenure.
She had also started her collegiate playing career at the Southern east by helping lead the program to the WNIT appearance before transferring to the Hinds Community College for the year 2000-01 season. At Hinds, Reed led the Mississippi Association Vijay community and the junior colleges in the reborn for the game and was the second in the conference while scoring. She was also chosen as an all-state first-team selection. She also earned an associate degree in sports medicine from the Hinds in the year 2001 and a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Georgia Western in 2003.
Being a head coach she holds an overall record of 125-54 which includes a 95-10 conference record, coming off to the three consecutive 20 + win seasons. Her JSU team has the 4th highest conference winning percentage over the last five seasons at 95.4%. her coaching career also started in there 2006 as JSU recruiting coordinator, serving in that role until 2019 before taking the same position for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns. From the year 2010 until 2015, she had the recruiting coordinator stops at Southern Mississippi, Louisiana Tech, and New Orleans. Her first head coach opportunity came in the year 2015 at her alma mater, Hinds CC.
Charlotte women’s basketball has been coming for its first season while competing in the American athletic conference. The Niners won the nine AAC games on their way to earning the sixth seed in the conference tournament.
